International

The ECLIS Doctoral School, through its research units and institutions, has many partnerships with international research units. These privileged relationships offer opportunities for PhD students to internationalize their academic pathway.

Whether for a short trip (for example, to attend a conference), a longer or shorter research stay in a laboratory, or a joint supervision agreement, international mobility helps strengthen one’s scientific network and represents a valuable asset for future career prospects.

Support for International Mobility

There are multiple possible sources of funding, and it is difficult to establish an exhaustive list. We recommend that you inquire within your laboratory and/or your home institution (through the International Relations Office or Department, or the Europe and International Affairs Office).

You may also be eligible for specific scholarships depending on your destination country.

Joint Supervision

The joint supervision agreement allows a PhD student to carry out their thesis while being enrolled simultaneously in a French institution and a foreign institution. The PhD student, registered with the French institution that will award the doctoral degree, will complete one or more research stays abroad during the 36 months of their thesis.

Welcoming International PhD Students

International PhD students may receive support upon their arrival from the International Relations or Research Services of their home institution.
