During
Re-enrollment beyond the 3rd year of the PhD, which must remain exceptional, requires a special derogation procedure with the director or deputy director of the Doctoral School site. The same applies to salaried PhD students benefiting from an extension for enrollment beyond the 6th year.
(For more information, please refer to the Internal Regulations of the Doctoral School)
The next CSI campaign will be launched in spring 2025 and will take place on Amethis.

The next campaign for the period from June 1 to December 31, 2025 is launched.
PhD students of the ED ECLIS who plan to participate in a conference with a presentation or a research stay abroad may submit a funding request for this mobility to the Doctoral School Directorate (ed-eclis@doctorat-paysdelaloire.fr) via this FORM. This request must be submitted before April 18, 2025 and concerns mobilities planned between June 1 and December 31, 2025. The applications received will be reviewed by the Doctoral School Council meeting on May 6, 2025, which will allocate eligible applications depending on the resources available to the Doctoral School for this call.
Allocation criteria:
The conditions for this call are as follows:
- Only 1 grant awarded per person per year (maximum of 3 over the course of the PhD). The Doctoral School Council may exceptionally consider a second funding request in the same year for a PhD student, provided the 3-request maximum over the PhD duration has not yet been reached. The second request will then be reviewed subject to the mobility call budget availability (this request will nevertheless not have priority over those from PhD students who have not yet received any support from the Doctoral School).
- The participation must be related to the PhD research
- The laboratory’s contribution must be at least equal to the amount requested from the Doctoral School. Applications not meeting this criterion (i.e. when laboratories are not, a priori, able to provide support equal to the requested amount from the Doctoral School) may, on a case-by-case basis, be reviewed by the Council upon a substantiated justification from the thesis supervisor and the laboratory director explaining why the laboratory cannot support the PhD student’s mobility at the requested level.
- The maximum amounts awarded are: €150 for France / €250 for Europe / €400 outside Europe
NB: It is important to note that the funding request may be submitted to the Doctoral School even if the conference paper proposal has not yet been accepted.
If a PhD student enrolled in September wishes to obtain mobility support for a mobility taking place between September and December of the same enrollment year, they may do so by completing the form above. This request will be reviewed by the Council (if necessary by email), provided the mobility project is directly aligned with the PhD research project and that the Doctoral School’s budget allows. It is understood, of course, that if accepted, the funded mobility will count toward the maximum of 3 mobilities eligible for support during the PhD.
Additional ranking criteria when the total amount of eligible requests exceeds the budget allocated for this action:
- Priority will be given to requests from 2nd-year, 3rd-year, and later PhD students
- If multiple requests come from the same laboratory for the same conference, the Doctoral School will allocate a lump sum to the laboratory, with the amount depending on the remaining budget for this action
- The Doctoral School will favor providing support to PhD students actively involved in the Doctoral School (council, missions, CO, etc.) and will limit support in cases of unreported absences from doctoral training sessions
NB1: It is also essential to inform the Doctoral School Directorate (ed-eclis@doctorat-paysdelaloire.fr) as soon as confirmation or cancellation (e.g., if the paper is not accepted) is known, once funding has been awarded.
The Thesis Jury
The thesis jury is appointed by the head of the enrolling institution after consultation with the doctoral school director and the thesis supervisor. The jury must include between four and eight members. At least half must be French or international experts external to the doctoral school and to the enrolling institution, selected for their scientific or professional expertise in the relevant research field. The defense is public, except where an exceptional derogation is granted by the head of the institution if the thesis subject involves proven confidentiality.
Before the defense, the thesis abstract is disseminated within the institution(s) benefiting from a joint accreditation.
